For our summer 2026 concert we return to beautiful Italianate church, St George's, Wash Common. Newbury Chamber Choir will be joined by the choristers of The Song School of Earley St Peter’s Church for this early evening summer concert of well-loved choral anthems.
Spanning from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, the concert weaves together the brilliance of the English cathedral tradition with expressive European masterpieces. From the radiant spirituality of Vaughan Williams and Fauré to the grandeur of Parry and Mendelssohn, this programme showcases the expressive power of choir and solo voices.
The programme includes the jubilant energy of William Byrd’s Sing joyfully, the heartfelt lyricism of John Ireland’s Greater Love, and the serene beauty of Vaughan Williams’ O taste and see.
Alongside the vibrant young voices of The Song School of Earley St Peter’s Church, who will be singing some of their favourite repertoire as well, this concert promises a rich and moving musical journey.
